Blade Offshore Remote Drilling is currently a majority owned subsidiary of Blade Offshore Services Ltd. Additional negotiations are currently being held with the British Geological Survey with a view to a Joint Venture company with both parties gaining from the potential technical and commercial benefits arising from the further conceptual development and commercial operations.

Blade Offshore Remote Drilling have produced a patented conceptual design for a subsea remote control pin pile drilling unit: and a larger but similar stand alone piling Unit for a mooring point or larger Monopile structure. (European Patent: 09275075.1)

The concepts promote:

• The utilisation of off the shelf technology and current industry experiences.
• A single deployment operation for each Pin pile or mooring Pin Pile.
• An ability for repeat deployment and recovery operations.
• A robust and simplistic design
• Adaptability (variable pin pile diameters/lengths)
